Our Doctors

Dr Bhaskar Appanna

M.B., B.S., D.C.H., D.R.C.O.G., M.R.C.P., M.R.C.G.P.

Dr Appanna graduated from Mysore University, India in 1989.

He specialised in paediatrics in the UK before moving to General Practice in August 2001. His special interests include management of Diabetes, Child Health and Elderly Care.

Dr Kashaf Undaleeb-Khan

M.B., Bsc., M.R.C.G.P.

Dr Undaleeb-Khan graduated from University College London Medical School in 2000 and trained in London to become A General Practitioner in 2007.

He has a special interest in mental health problems. He has also completed the Cardiff University Diploma in Practical Dermatology, so he looks after patients with skin problems and is able to carry out minor surgery.

Dr Vishal Bhardwaj (m)

MbChB, MRCS (Ed), MRCGP

Dr Bhardwaj graduated from university of Birmingham Medical School in 2001. Having undertaken surgical training in both UK and New Zealand before completing his General Practice training in the North Worcestershire area.

Specialist interests include Men’s Health, Minor Surgery and Orthopaedics (sports injuries and joint injections in particular).

Dr Laura Makepeace (f)

MBChB, DRCOG, MRCGP

Dr Makepeace qualified as a doctor at Birmingham University in 2007 and became a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013. She has special interest in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Family Planning and Palliative Care.

Dr Sam Tong (m)

MBChB, BMedSci, MRCGP

Dr Tong graduated from University of Birmingham in 2010. Has an interest in Child health, Elderly care and Palliative care. LGBT Lead.

Dr Amy Pennefather (f)

MBBS/BA, MRCGP, DRCOG

Graduated from Imperial College London in 2012. She completed her GP training in the Oxfordshire area.

Her clinical interests include Child Health, Elderly and palliative care.

Dr Fiona Mackay (f)

BM MRCGP

Dr Fiona Mackay BM MRCGP qualified in Southampton in 1989.  After qualifying as a GP she worked as a research fellow in drug safety and prescribing. 

She has worked as a GP for over 20 years with experience in many areas, including substance misuse and forensic work. She is also a qualified gym instructor and personal trainer.

Dr Shyma Fazal (f)

(BMedSci, BMBS, MRCGP, DRCOG, DCH, DGM)

Dr Fazal graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2008. She did her General Practice training in Lincolnshire.

She has an interest in Child Health, Elderly and Palliative care.

Nurses

Practice nurses are qualified and registered nurses. The practice nurses run clinics for long-term health conditions such as Asthma or Diabetes, minor ailment clinics and carry out cervical smears.

They can help with health issues such as Family planning, Healthy living advice, Blood pressure checks and Dressings.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Finance Manager

The practice management team is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice. The management team ensure the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology.

The practice management team supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

The practice also employ a team of Administrators, Receptionists, Repeat Prescription Clerks and Secretaries to support in the smooth and efficient running of all services provided.
