Prescription Request Update - 19.07.21
From 1st August 2021 we can no longer guarantee that urgent prescription requests will be processed the same day.
Routine prescriptions usually take 48 hours to process. Please order when you have at least 7 days of medication left.
Update at 26.03.20
We are being inundated with repeat medication requests. Please do not order your medication before it is due as it will not be processed. In order to prevent stockpiling we will not issue larger quantities. You may order when you have 2 weeks supply left. We aim to process all prescription requests within 72 hours. It may take an additional couple of days for your pharmacy to process prescriptions, so we recommend you allow 5 days before collecting your medication. If you need to contact the prescription team please make use of our email system if possible: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you are on long term medication the doctor may authorise you to receive some prescriptions without seeing a doctor every time you require more. You will be issued with a copy of your medication and this can be returned to the surgery and put in the prescriptions letter box.

REDUCING MEDICINES WASTE
The practice has signed up to help reduce medicines waste. To support this we would ask you to only order those items you need and not everything on your list. We would also like to encourage you to use our online repeat prescribing service. If you need help in using this service, please ask our prescriptions team on the above telephone number or email them at the email address shown above.
The local chemists close at 17:30, however, the local Cohens Chemist within the health centre is open until 19:00. Every evening there is a chemist open until 18:30 in the town. We are now operating an electronic prescription service whereby you can pre designate any local pharmacy to receive your prescription electronically. This will mean you don't have to collect your prescription from the surgery but go to your designated local chemist for collection. Some local chemists will also deliver the items to you when they are ready, please check with you local chemist for details.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
